1. Culture will be used in the sense of whatever a person must have in order to function and live in a particular society. The importance of culture in studying language is when we try to adapt the pronunciation, the rhytm, the intonation, the way that thye dress and some different aspects that we have to take into account, when we are learning other language.
2.The most interesting aspects for foreign people are first of all, the way that we treat them, the nature, flora nad fauna, our customs, food, clothing and among others.
3.The most challenging aspects are learn spanish, adapt some different traditions that are so common for us like pray before to eat and some others.
4 .Best= Clothing and language. Least=problems between America and Iran and other countries.
5. Best=our nature, our country. Least=our law, thieves, criminals and people who don´t know honesty, loyalty and respect , very important values for me.
6. The law, because this law and some judges are causing a mess in our streets, because a criminal commits a crime and lack of evidence so left out and then do it the same, so that´s why we can´t do anything about this problems because the criminals are making a party with us.
Hi Gaby,
ResponderEliminarThanks for your thoughts! A couple of questions/comments:
1- In answer 1, you mentioned a lot of language aspects like rhythm, intonation, etc., but you didn't really mention how they're connected to culture. Can you explain that more?
2- In 2, you mentioned the way Costa Ricans treat foreigners. Can you explain that a bit?
3- You finished number 3 with "and some others." What are those "others"?
Otherwise, good job, and I'll wait to hear what your classmates have to say. Thanks again, and have a good week!
Ryan

ResponderEliminarIn the first paragraph , I mentioned aspects like rhytm and intonation because I think that if you want to adpat to different culture you have to adpat to the rhytm of the words, and make the noise or the pronunciation as well as you can and try to effort to do the best intonation when you are talking.
ResponderEliminarIn the second paragraph, I explain you a little bit the way in which Costa Rican people treat foreigners. For example: we try to satisfy their expectations such as visit different places, meet new people, take pictures, explore the nature, learn our language, know our costums and traditions and we try to treat them "Pura Vida".
In the third paragrpah, I am referring to among others to different costums that we usually do like go to the church every Sunday, everything is related with God.Make special dinner with whole family, share special moments together in different dates like mother´s day, christmas, parties or birthdays...
Thanks for clearing those questions up!

I think that one of the most challenging aspects, after knowing language and traditions of a country, is to be conscious where you are and what you want to learn from that country, I believe that is very important to want to be there and enjoy a lot.
